So one of my clients has a WooCommerce site that for some reason, I can’t upgrade and I’m not entirely sure why. When I click Upgrade Database, it takes so long that it fails or something, even though it is supposed to run in the background.
Anyone ever see anything like that? I’ve tried to sort it out on staging for a while now, but have mostly just given up until I have some serious time to put towards it.
They are currently running WooCommerce 3.8.1 and I have the notice in the WP admin that says – “WooCommerce database update required
WooCommerce has been updated! To keep things running smoothly, we have to update your database to the newest version. The database update process runs in the background and may take a little while, so please be patient. Advanced users can alternatively update via WP CLI.”
And yes, I tried WP CLI.March 9, 2020 at 7:48 pm #3266mburnetteParticipant
Hey, mperalty – Any clue as to what might be going on in the debug logs? I usually check there and the browser console first to see if anything jumps out at me from those…March 10, 2020 at 1:03 am #3271mperaltyParticipant
I’ll have to re-setup the staging and get that info. Sometimes, I feel like “if it is working, let’s just leave it alone” but I know that’s horrible practice, but WooCommerce is one of the few plugins/add-ons for WordPress where it isn’t smooth sailing like the rest of the popular things have mostly become.
